The original model search started in 1980 in Richmond, Kentucky at Eastern Kentucky University as a local promotion. With the guidance and leadership of Steven R . Rosenberg, founder and President, Classmate USA went to Daytona Beach Florida during Spring Break in 1988. It started with one swimsuit sponsor, growing with each year. In 1995 it moved to Panama City Beach, growing to 22 swimsuit sponsors this past year.
